Friction plates MCC612-7 The clutch plates by TRW Lucas are characterised by their long durability and the fact that their proper and efficient functioning stays on par during that time. An optimal power transmission is guaranteed, even during extreme demands because these are highly-precise clutch discs with organic friction material. The composition of the friction material can be compared to the original friction plates. The optimised dimensions warrant an increased transmission of the engine power. Every set always contains the right number of clutch plates needed to replace the clutch of your motorcycle. Any steel intermediate plates and clutch springs are not supplied. Besides the standard friction plates, TRW also offers specific, reinforced friction plates for motorcycles that are required to perform to the extreme. Thanks to the so-called 'intelligent materials mix', including carbon fibre, those reinforced friction places are better suited in more extreme circumstances than the standard versions. A longer lifespan is evidently combined with high friction properties. Excellent material for competitions thanks to a high controllability, a stabile pressure point and minimal performance loss at maximum torque. You can expect top performances, even at high temperatures. Whoever expects their motorcycle to be 'high performance', specifically the clutch, will probably go for racing versions. Thanks to the use of a high carbon fibre content in the friction material, these friction plates are better suited for the high requirements set by the circuit. High temperatures have less impact, resulting in a longer lifespan all-over. When the topic is optimal performance at high speeds and with significant power, these plates are the best suited.

Brake disc MSW204RAC Brake discs are ALWAYS sold per unit and TRW offers a number of options with regard to design. Standard brake discs are, well, standard. Dry but decent. The design of the RAC brake discs is more varied and playful. They are lighter and the extra cooling provided by the special design makes sure they can withstand the heat better. Ideal for more extreme circumstances. A fixed or a floating design is not always a choice: the back brake disc is fixed not matter what, only in the front you can opt for both IF your motorcycle is equipped for it. This is the case with a number of BMW models but certainly not all. The benefit of floating brake discs is that they can resist higher temperatures better. The choice for off-road-specific brake discs is worth mentioning as well: TRW developed EC-brake discs for the advanced gardening and mud works. The steel alloy used here, is built to last. The design looks good but it's more eminent that controllability and brake reaction approach near-perfection. General, about TRW brake discs TRW offers brake pads and braking systems for the aftermarket that allow motorcycles and other vehicles to engage in supple, safe and powerful driving. And braking. Especially the latter is what matters most: as a motorbike rider you want to have a reliable braking solution - something which has been provided by TRW for about a century now. One element that's quite important in this phenomenon, is the brake disc. It can be said that the TRW units differ from the others. All the TRW brake discs are homologated, even if they were made for scooters. They have a slower wear and a TRW brake disc will outlast alternative aftermarket brake discs by 30%. The fact that TRW brake discs are made of tempered steel will have something to do with that. It creates brake discs that are resistant to distortion, all the while not giving corrosion the chance to form thanks to a special, new type of alloy. The precision used to grind the TRW brake discs (tolerance of 1/100mm) prevents vibration and ensures that the brake pads wear more evenly.

Lithium-Ion battery LTX5L-BS This Shido battery is a private label, manufactured by one of the largest battery suppliers in Japan. Shido batteries are produced according to very strict quality standards. If you are looking for a problem-free battery, you have found it! The Shido Lithium batteries may be smaller than the original one in your bike. If this is the case, the Shido comes with snap-on spacer blocks. These spacer blocks change the dimensions of your battery to make it fit your bike, despite its smaller size. Shido Lithium batteries contain four 3.2 volt lifePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) cells connected in series. Together this delivers 12.8 volts, perfect for use as a starter battery for motorcycles. The electronic battery management system (BMS) distributes the charge evenly among the four cells. Thanks to a built-in small resistor, this lithium battery can generate a very high starting power. Powerful and fast, in other words. The battery status can be checked at any time by means of a push button. 3 leds = Voltage > 13,15V: battery fully charged and ready for use 2 leds = Voltage > 13V: battery can start the engine but charging is advised 1 led = Voltage < 12,8V: battery needs to be charged Lithium batteries offer a superior starting capacity and are up to 30% lighter than traditional batteries. A longer life (no sulfation) and lower self-discharge are also undeniable advantages. Attention: lithium batteries are more sensitive to freezing temperatures. Extra attention should be paid to an always-on-circuit accessory (an alarm for instance): a lithium battery quickly loses its charge when the bike is stored for a long time while devices still use the battery, even up to four times faster than you are used to with an lead-acid battery. In that case a - yes, specific - trickle charger can do an excellent job.
